Stephen Ray Norris

Stephen Ray Norris, 71, of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, with his children by his side. Stephen was born on April 13, 1952, to Clayton and Letha Norris. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Leroy and Clayton; nephew, Tommy Lee; nieces, Diane McClain and Debbie Butcher; grandchildren, Brooklyn Davis and his special friend, Michele Goins.

Steve leaves to cherish his memory, his children, India (Patrick) Powell, Etienne (Cassandra) Norris, Ian (Jaclyn) Norris, Ronald Rouse and Tommy Barnett; siblings, Gertrude, Retha, Keith and Dan; grandchildren, Kearston, Antonio, Olivia, Paeton, Etienne, Solomon, Samantha, Kaise, Cassius and Tyson; great grandson, Kendrix Sullivan; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as several other friends and family.

Steve was a loving father, brother and grandfather. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School. Following his graduation from high school he went on to further his education at Wittenberg College in Springfield Ohio. Steve retired from working for the state for many years. He was an avid lover of Cleveland Browns football as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes. Steve also enjoyed going hunting for rabbits and squirrels when he was able. He will be missed by all that knew him.

You may call on the family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Greater Apostolic Christian Church in Zanesville, located at 1651 State St. Funeral services will start at 12 p.m. Following the funeral services, burial will take place in Woodlawn cemetery.
